Retinal Imaging

At Davies and Jones we are able to offer retinal imaging using four different types of device:

OPTOMAP is one of the latest breakthroughs in eye imaging. It uses dual laser scanning that gives us the widest image possible of the inside of your eyes. This allows us to detect and to monitor in ways never previously possible conditions such as RETINAL DETACHMENT, DIABETES, RETINITS PIGMENTOSA

OCT we use the latest OCT technology, the first of it’s kind in Wales to scan through the ten layers of your retina. OCT is especially suited to detecting macular problems like AGE RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION and allows differential diagnosis of wet and dry AMD.

FUNDUS PHOTOGRAPHY The latest digital fundus cameras are widely used for the detection and monitoring of many eye conditions. We have a stereo (3D) camera that has been shown to vastly improve the detection of GLAUCOMA
